Just days before the Opening Ceremonies of the 2008 Beijing Games it was announced that the US Men’s Gymnastics Team would be performing without their two power players twins Paul and Morgan Hamm.
Major news networks and critics immediately began a media based lament for the eminent failure of a team composed of the ‘second string and the alternates.’
All are first time Olympic competitors who would be performing in the shadow of the unstoppable Chinese team.
All the ‘experts’ said that the 2008 Men’s Gymnastics Team wouldn't even come close to a medal earning performance.
There was just no way.
Congratulations to Alexander, Raj, Joe, Jonathan, Justin and Kai. Those bronze medals sure are pretty.
