“The Americans? We’re going to smash them.” – Alain Bernard of France

So…did you see the Men’s 4x100 Meter Team Relay last night?

America took the title back and shaved off an additional 3.99 second to set a new world record.

It was an unbelievably fantastically amazing moment. LibraryDiva and I were screaming and jumping up and down.

Here’s Michael Phelps loosing his sh*t over the victory.

And here’s a picture of the French team’s poolside pouting.

Congratulations Cullen, Jason, Michael, and Garrett.

Moments like that are why I love the Olympics.

Woo-hoo! Go team USA! I went to bed after the female gymnastics finished, so I didn't get to see this--thanks for posting :-)

So you love the Olympics, not for their ability to bring peace and harmony between people, but for moments when pompous French snobs get their asses handed to them by the human Flipper?

Sounds reasonable to me. ;)
