Brunch with the Girls

On the menu this month: Greek!  So we piled into the car and spent an incredibly rainy Sunday afternoon at Mykonos Taverna in Atlanta.

Quite possibly the greatest menu item description ever.

Aimee was making funny faces and gestures to attract the waiter's attention.
So he started making them back at her.

Robin-in-my-pocket.

This was AFTER about half of the plates had been removed from the table.
Yeah...if you leave this place hungry it's your fault.

 Fantastic baklava.

So...

I'm considering the possibilities of a pet chicken.
Specifically a Buff Orpington.
To be named Sadie.

Flashback: The Random Pictures Edition

You never know what you'll find when you start digging back through the random photos on your cellphone...

The back side of the my chocolate milk cartons at Cracker Barrel
"Mamma!  What you got??"

Our grandfather always had gladiolus in the backyard, and I asked TiaDiva to plant some for me.
So she did.
And they were gorgeous.
That awkward moment when you realize your cat is the same color as the floor.
We found a random plastic duck behind the mailbox...
...and another on the storm drain.

Flashback: The DivaAunt and Her Bionic Knee

On June 18, 2012 my lovely aunt had her left knee replaced.  I, being the awesome niece that I am, took the day off to go sit around the hospital and provide moral support/comic relief. The dawn found my mother and I in the car and head to Northside Hospital - not 'eye surgery' Northside hospital, the other one.  I'm seriously not kidding when I say that it feels like my family single-handedly kept Northside Hospital in business in 2012.

Getting prepped for surgery...she just got the good drugs.

Showing off her heart rate monitor...which they put on the middle finger.

I was pretty sure her surgery hat will also prevent aliens from reading her brain waves...

...when I told her that joke she thought it was hilarious!  I'm pretty sure the drugs helped.
Her surgeon and his head nurse.  They were super nice and really funny!
Several hours later, post surgery, we got a visit from the super sweet PT girl.
DivaAunt said "NO FLOWERS"...so I got her a 'Get Well Frog' instead.
Getting prepped to stand up on her new knee for the first time.
Slowly and carefully...
...and she's up!
By dinner time the next day she was chillin' in the recliner.
She still has pain in her leg, which sometimes makes getting any sleep hard, but she's moving much better than she has in years.
