A Peach of a Story

Hello, lovely reader.

As you may or may not know, the arrival of November ushers in a national event that doesn't seem to get enough positive press...even though it totally should. November is National Novel Writing Month, affectionately referred to as NaNoWriMo, thirty days and nights of literary abandon designed to encourage the great American novelist in all of us.

Tia, the newest Diva here at DivaStan, is a long time participator in this event, dutifully dedicating every moment of her 'free' time for the entire month to creating her own little literary masterpiece. This year TiaDiva is doing her part to encourage other to participate in this event by hosting kickoff parties, planning write-ins, and arranging raffle items to help raise money in support of NaNo.

One of the activities at the first kick off party for NaNo 2009 was to write a brief story using the 'regional dare' item...and since this is Georgia...the dare item is a peach. So here, as 'guest post' of sorts, is Tia's story about a peach.

"Once upon a time there was a peach. It was very peachy in a peach-like sort of way, and peaches are wont to do. Whatever the heck 'wont' means. So, back to the peach. It was peach-colored, not green like some of those bad peaches who hang out on street corners and mug old ladies, but a peachy peach. It had a peach crack, which was shaped like a peach crack and not a baby's butt, because seriously have you seen a baby's butt? They are not attractive in the least...back to the peach. It was covered in peach fuzz and went on an adventure and saved Mississippi or someting and nobody cared. And stuff."

*cough*

So! The long and the short of things is that if you have an extremely creative but seemingly directionless individual in your life, encourage them to peruse the NaNo website and but some thought into channeling all that excessive energy into a meaningful outlet. And stuff.
