As I bumble along through life I gather unexpected lessons on the way. I find that most days I'm learning something new, either about myself, my eyeballs, or the world around me.
So far this year I've had extensive lessons in patience.
I've done a lot of sitting quietly and waiting. In doctor's offices, specialist's offices, waiting rooms, dilating rooms, recovery rooms, and my parent's living room. Most of this while having my vision obstructed in either one or both eyes. There isn't a lot you can do while waiting for your eyes to recover after surgery.
Bright lights hurt.
TV watching is out.
Reading is out.
Cross stitch is out.
Using the computer is out.
So you sit.
And you wait.
