I am a book lover, and these are my books.

And I believe that it takes a book lover to appreciate the simple joy that can be found while wandering through the personal library of a fellow bibliophile. You can learn volumes about a person just by investigating what they like to read.

Including just how 'nerdy' they really are.

For example:

This is my copy of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, the British print children's edition. It was purchased for me in a bookstore in downtown London by the H.O.P.S.F., and is unquestionably the most fantastically awesome thing she's ever given me (okay, there was that whole 'the honor of being a bridesmaid in her wedding' but I'm talking about a tangible present that I can hold in my hands and jump and down and squeal over like the sad, pathetic fangrrl I am so shut it!).

Philosopher's Stone/Sorcerer's Stone also happens to be my favorite book in the series.

No matter what language it's printed in.

This would be my copy of Harry Potter und der Stein die Weisen, which would be Philosopher's Stone (okay, technically it would be 'stone of the wise'), the German children's edition. This was a Christmas present from my very dear friend Kati, purchase just for me at her favorite local bookstore in Germany (and we aren't even going to go into the whole 'she had to wait for them to reprint it which means she went seriously out of her way to get it for me' thing).

And thanks to my two years of high school German and my three semesters of German in college, I've read this book cover to cover three times.

And yes, I feel both seriously nerdy and awesomely smart EVERY time I pick this book up and read it...in public...on purpose.

And then there's this.

This is Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.

In Chinese.

And it just happens to be the 'something awesome' that TiaDiva picked up for me while on vacation in the Pacific Northwest (and never mind that I stood in front of the door and refused to let her leave for her vacation until she had promised that she would come home with 'something awesome' for me...so again, shut it!). I had no idea what she would find and was seriously blown away when the pulled this out of her suitcase and handed it me. I think I must have stood in the middle of the living room just petting it for ten or fifteen minutes...and never mind the fact that I can't read a single word between the covers.
